T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST RESULTS

Innovation does not stop with our pizzas and products. Yes, we’ve stuffed hot dogs in crust and made projectors out of packaging, but creativity also flows through our Team Members’ veins.

In May 2016, Pizza Hut announced a T-shirt design contest open to all restaurant employees. We didn’t provide many guidelines aside from making sure the design was on brand and something thousands of Team Members would be proud to wear. We received more than 500 wonderful submissions from across the U.S., which our team of judges narrowed down to five. Next we turned it over to the Team Members to vote for their favorite.

Kapreme Irving, a Team Member with franchise AIGP in Houston, Texas, took home first place. Kapreme’s design, pictured here, will be featured in a 2017 Team Member uniform pack. In addition to design being included in our uniform program, he will receive $1,000 and an all-expense paid trip to Pizza Hut headquarters in Plano, Texas, for our annual fall meeting.

Kapreme’s design places the focus on the customer. He said: “We want our customers to feel and know that it wouldn’t be a Pizza Hut without them”. Kapreme also expressed his thanks to Pizza Hut for letting Team Members across the system show their talents outside of making great food for customers. Sounds like unlocking potential through Life Unboxed to me! Kapreme even plans on starting his own clothing line after finishing his degree from the University of Houston.

Second place went to Bryson Culton, an RGM in Dallas, Texas. He will receive a $250 gift card for his creative emoticon design.

Damon Blunt, from Cleveland, Ohio, rounded out the top three with a jersey style “Hut Life” design. Damon will receive a $50 dollar gift card.

Congrats to the three winners, and thank you to everyone who participated or voted. The creativity and customer-centric designs are a testament to how talented our Team Members are!
