‘Tis the season for giving back here at Pizza Hut, and one franchise in Wisconsin is leading the way! If you haven’t heard, we’re in the middle of our campaign for World Hunger Relief, a powerful way to combat global hunger through our partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme. However, as is the Pizza Hut way, the restaurants of the Wisconsin Hospitality Group have decided to also give back a little closer to home, and support local food pantries across the state alongside the Hunger Task Force.
Wisconsin Hospitality Group and its 82 Pizza Hut restaurants, along with the company’s new foundation, WHG Cares, will join the roughly 6,300 other Pizza Hut restaurants across the US to support the World Hunger Relief effort. Customers will have the opportunity to add $1, $3, $5 and $10 to their Pizza Hut order, which can help feed four children for a day or up to an entire classroom for a day.
WHG is also taking care of people right here at home, and will be joining the Hunger Task Force along with 56 partners to fight hunger in their local communities in Wisconsin. Each of the 82 Pizza Hut restaurants will serve as food drop-off sites for non-perishable food items beginning October 16th through November 14th. Customers can drop off their food donations at their local Pizza Hut restaurant to receive an exclusive Pizza Hut coupon for 20% off orders of $20 or more in recognition of their generous donation.
“We are excited to partner with the Hunger Task Force and join them in the fight against hunger right here in our company’s home state of Wisconsin through our Pizza Hut Food Drive,” said Mark Dillon, President and CEO of Wisconsin Hospitality Group.
Supporting communities is a huge part of the culture at Wisconsin Hospitality Group Pizza Huts, which is one of the reasons why they established WHG Cares, a nonprofit foundation that makes it possible to provide 100% of campaign net proceeds to its charitable partners. Throughout the last 16 years, WHG has been able to donate more than $2.4 million in combined gifts to local charities including Children’s Hospital, World Hunger Relief, Honor Flight and One Heartland. These donations were made possible by both the generosity of guests and the hard work of all WHG team members.
