PIZZA HUT® INTRODUCES CATEGORY’S FIRST $5 FLAVOR MENU

Beginning Jan. 4, new menu features seven items, including pizza, WingStreet® Wings, Hershey’s® desserts, Tuscani® pasta, signature sides, and Pepsi® beverages, for $5 each when ordering two or more

PLANO, TEXAS (Jan. 4, 2016) – The days of having to sacrifice quality to get a great deal from a pizza company are over with the introduction of the all-new $5 Flavor Menu from Pizza Hut.

Available beginning Jan. 4, the $5 Flavor Menu features a medium one-topping pizza, eight bone-out WingStreet® Wings, the Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie, Hershey’s Triple Chocolate Brownie, Tuscani Pasta, a double order of breadsticks or flavor sticks and four 20-oz. Pepsi beverages for $5 each when ordering two or more. The $5 Flavor Menu arrives at a time when consumers are most looking and asking for value – the start of the New Year.

“Consumers consistently give us credit for having  great-tasting, flavorful food and now we are able to offer it to them at a price that enables them to say ‘yes’ every day to Pizza Hut,” said Jeff Fox, Chief Brand and Concept Officer, Pizza Hut. “Value menus don’t really happen in the pizza category. We know that five dollars for a pizza from America’s favorite pizza company is a heck of a deal. At the same time, we have fans who are just as passionate about our Hershey’s Cookie, Hershey’s Brownie, as well as our WingStreet wings, Tuscani Pasta and world famous breadsticks. So, we are thrilled to be bringing consumers all of these high-quality Pizza Hut choices at a time when value is really top-of-mind.”

Last year, Pizza Hut made a consumer promise to add more insight-driven value to its menu and the $5 Flavor Menu is a key component of that commitment. In mid-2015, the company added a $6.99 ANY pairs deal that included any two medium pizzas – specialties or create-your-own– for $6.99 each. The brand has coupled that with simple meal solutions like the recent limited-time offer, Triple Treat Box, and in 2015 became the first national pizza company to remove artificial flavors and colors from its core pizzas.

“Our single-minded consumer promise is to make it easy for them to get a better Pizza Hut pizza, as well as all of our flavorful food. One way we’re able to do that is by offering a variety of compelling quality options for $5 each,” said Fox. “Our intent was to create the most flavor-filled and broadly appealing value menu ever in the food category and we think we’ve done that with the $5 Flavor Menu.”

Pizza Hut has not set a timeframe for how long the new menu will be available. The company has created a quick-link option on its website to make it easier for digital customers to access and start their order. Nearly half of all Pizza Hut orders are now received via the web or mobile device.

Consumers will have, subject to availability, a number of options when completing their $5 Flavor Menu order. The medium one-topping pizza from Pizza Hut may include the following ingredients: Pepperoni, Italian sausage, premium salami, classic meatball, slow-roasted ham, hardwood smoked bacon, grilled chicken, beef, seasoned pork, Mediterranean black olives, Peruvian cherry peppers, fresh mushrooms, fresh spinach, fresh red onions, fresh green bell peppers, sliced banana peppers, sweet pineapple, sliced jalapeño peppers, or diced roma tomatoes.

Also, a variety of crust flavors, sauces and drizzles can be added to any pizza. They include: Ranch, Smokehouse BBQ, Hut Favorite, Toasted Parmesan, Salted Pretzel, Honey Sriracha, Toasted Asiago, Fiery Red Pepper, Toasted Cheddar and Garlic Buttery Blend. The available sauces are Classic Marinara, Premium Crushed Tomato, Creamy Garlic Parmesan, Honey Sriracha, Barbeque and Buffalo and drizzles include Balsamic, Honey Sriracha, Barbeque and Buffalo.

The Ultimate Hershey’s Chocolate Chip Cookie is cut into eight slices and is loaded with an average of 165 Hershey’s semi-sweet chocolate chips per cookie, and the eight-inch Hershey’s Triple Chocolate Brownie is freshly baked with three types of genuine Hershey’s products including more than 100 chocolate chips.

Pizza Hut breadsticks, which is the company’s most popular side item, are available as a double order as part of the $5 Flavor Menu in the following flavors: Original, Hut Favorite, Fiery Red Pepper, Toasted Cheddar, Toasted Parmesan, Toasted Asiago and Honey Sriracha.

WingStreet Wings are available in honey BBQ, spicy BBQ, buffalo mild, buffalo medium, buffalo burnin’ hot, honey Sriracha, sweet chili and garlic parmesan.

As part of the $5 Flavor Menu, customers can order either the Meaty Marinara or Creamy Chicken Alfredo Tucsani Pasta or four 20-oz Pepsi products.
