Lucila (Lu) Cuello is the Chief People Officer for Pizza Hut U.S. In this role, she oversees the brand’s people strategy, talent acquisition and development, global field learning, internal communications, employee experience and engagement, and facilities teams.
Lu has been with Yum! Brands for more than five years, previously serving as Chief People Officer for KFC Latin American and the Caribbean, leading the people agenda with more than 80 franchise partners in 40 countries. In 2022, Lu transitioned to the Pizza Hut U.S. team, significantly contributing to the change of the organization by bringing in and supporting the development of talent and elevating the HR team with enhanced people practices. Prior to Yum!, Lu developed her international career, working for more than 16 years at Kraft Food (later Mondelez International) in various global and regional HR roles, supporting efforts across Latin America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe.
Lu holds a Bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s in Business Administration. Outside of work, Lu, her partner Dan, and their two kids, Lucas and Olivia, enjoy outdoor activities, traveling, and listening to live music. A native of Buenos Aries, Argentina, Lu also lived in Brazil, Chicago, Miami, and now Dallas.
