Pizza Hut and Amazon have collaborated to bring flexible ordering to customers using a new skill via Alexa, starting December 15
PLANO, TEXAS (Dec. 14, 2016) – Pizza Hut, recognized as the pizza restaurant company which serves and delivers more pizzas than any other pizza company in the world, is expanding its ordering capabilities to include Alexa Voice Service on Amazon Echo, Amazon Tap, Echo Dot, Amazon Fire TV and Fire tablets. With a simple phrase, and not a single phone or laptop lifted, Pizza Hut’s new skill brings ease and convenience to the ordering experience for pizza-loving homes across the country.
The Pizza Hut skill differs from any pizza brand in the space by providing Alexa users with the convenience of ordering not only your favorites and past orders, but also directly from a menu of the most popular items from Pizza Hut.
“Pizza Hut has and always will be devoted to serving customers pizza anywhere, anyhow, and anyway, and using the latest technology is no exception,” says Doug Terfehr, Senior Director, Public Relations and Partnerships for Pizza Hut. “Amazon is great to work with and the Pizza Hut skill on Alexa is unlike any other pizza brand with flexible ordering from a menu of options without lifting a finger.”
Menu options include:
- Pepperoni Pizza
- Cheese Pizza
- Veggie Lover’s® Pizza
- Meat Lover’s® Pizza
- Supreme Pizza
- Breadsticks
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Pepsi®
- Diet Pepsi®
- Mist Twist
- Mountain Dew
Voice command options include:
- “Alexa, open Pizza Hut.”
- “Alexa, ask Pizza Hut for a pizza.”
“We’re thrilled to be collaborating with Pizza Hut to give customers hands-free, convenient ordering of pizza,” said Rob Pulciani, Director, Amazon Alexa. “Ordering from Pizza Hut pizza by just using your voice from inside the comfort of your home is a wonderful experience.”
Pizza Hut has increasingly added new ways to order over the last year. This summer, Pizza Hut was the first brand to announce the ability to order via “chatbot” on Facebook and Twitter messenger. Consumers can either repeat previous or favorite orders, as well as pick a pizza from a list of popular pizzas. They also announced earlier this year it’s new “Visible Promise Time,” which allows customers to see an estimated timeline of when their food will be ready prior to actually placing the order. The visible promise time works both for delivery and carryout, making it easier for customers to game plan around a timeframe.
The Pizza Hut skill for Alexa is available starting December 15 for placing a carryout or delivery order. For more information, visit blog.pizzahut.com or to order now, visit www.pizzahut.com.
