Pizza Hut Stacks NFL Player and Team Partner Lineup to Elevate Homegating All Season Long
The highlight reel doesn’t end there. Pizza Hut is fueling the energy of fans taking in the action from home through its first national NFL TV campaign starring the league’s most prolific wide receiver duo: Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster.
“We are thrilled to kick off our first season with Pizza Hut as the official pizza of the National Football League,” said Renie Anderson, SVP, NFL Partnerships, Sponsorship & Consumer Products. “As we saw with their awesome ‘Doorbell Dance’ for the Draft, Pizza Hut has really creative and engaging ways of activating around our brand and fans – and pizza lovers – everywhere should be excited for what they have planned for this NFL season.”
Since becoming the Official Pizza Sponsor of the NFL, Pizza Hut has aligned with some of the most passionate fan bases in the league through local partnerships with the Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams. These partnerships will come to life for fans throughout the season through local activations, player partnerships, social impact initiatives and more.
HUT, HUT, HUT! New, Interactive Pizza Hut Packaging Takes the Field
To ensure no fan gets left behind, Pizza Hut unveiled its new packaging for the NFL season featuring collective use of all 32 NFL team marks. The special-edition pizza boxes will be available in all Pizza Hut locations during regular season. To bring it one step further, the brand introduced the Beanbag Blitz app, a recreation of the classic tailgate game cornhole which is compatible with the limited-edition NFL pizza boxes via Augmented Reality technology.
“We tapped into technology to deliver a truly immersive gameday experience to fans – specifically combining what they’re most passionate about: their team, the spirit of competition, and of course, pizza,” said Zipporah Allen, Chief Marketing Officer, Pizza Hut, U.S. “Incorporating this AR component into our lineup of new experiences is broadening our digital portfolio and engaging fans in a completely new way.”
Once the app is downloaded to an iOS or Android device, players have the option to unlock the Augmented Reality component by lining their camera up with the top of the special-edition box. Once unlocked, the game is played as it normally would be, as a team of two taking turns tossing beanbags onto the virtual cornhole board with the flick of a finger. First player to 21 points wins!
To feed every fans pizza craving on gameday, Pizza Hut will be offering Large 2-Topping pizzas for just $7.99 all season long, continuing the brand’s commitment to providing great-tasting pizza at unbeatable prices to NFL fans and pizza lovers alike.
